DREAM AWAY Update 02-14-2013

Greetings,

Please let me say Happy Valentine's day to one and all. Hope all had a good time and were rewarded for all of your efforts toward the special person in your life.

Let me start off with the additions and upgrades to the DREAM AWAY web page. I updated the Weather section of the Links page. In it I made available the links to the on line weatherfax files available through the NOAA web page.

As you know we are docked in Delcambre, Louisiana, and plan on staying here through the next hurricane season. During the time from now to November of 2013, I will be working on some major DREAM AWAY projects. To get these projects done, I needed a shop to set up and work on these projects. It is done! The shop is located in Delcambre. In fact I can see the shop from the cockpit of DREAM AWAY, and can walk to the shop if needed. As long as I do not have a lot of tools and materials to take to or from the shop, it is an easy walk.

The cap rail replacement section in the Construction & Projects web page is complete. It includes the aft cap rail, the forward cap rail, and the name boards.

The really big news is that I have retired agan! I ended my career with Y&S Marine on the 5th of February. I enjoyed the work I was doing on the crew boats, but the long hours and the long drive to Venice, was just getting to be too much. If you want a lot of details, just give me a call or send an email and I will give you all of the gory details.

So now the present plan is to work on DREAM AWAY until November of this year when hurricane season is over. We hope to follow through with the plan on the Passages Planned page.

If any of you are in the Houston area at the end of March, Katherine (Kitty) will be at the Southwest International In-Water Boat Show representing the North Pier Marina. Drop by the show and say hello. I should be at the show on Saturday and Sunday.

regards,
