Omoa - 2010

We stopped at both Puerto Cortez and Omoa on our travels home to the Rio Dulce, from Roatan. We had hoped to stay the night in Puerto Cortez, but there seemed to be some issue about a possible port fee and anchoring fee. It seemed a nice little town, but we didn’t go ashore, and were only at anchor there for a matter of several hours. Then we traveled on to Omoa.

Omoa is a lovely little cove of a place, with a small town, and old homes along the waterfront. I would like to visit there again, and go ashore. However, it was late when we got there, and we already had dinner planned, so abstained from joining the revelers for what turned out to be warm beer and a not too good fish dinner ashore. We, instead, had a nice meal aboard, and hit the sack early as it was to be an early start next morning in our progress home to the Rio Dulce.
