Second Bight, Parrot Tree - 2010
We would not have ventured
into Second Bight, the home of the Parrot Tree Plantation,
had it not been the destination of choice for Stacy and
Tina, and Dale and Karen’s, when they visited us on Roatan.
However, I'm glad we did, as it was a very safe bay, and the
property is beautiful, with up-market homes on the hills, a
substantial marina, and a lovely resort.
The rooms at the resort turned out to be delightful, being
big, well-appointed, and having wonderful views. The kids
kindly set us up with a slip at the marina,
but we spent most of the time in their rooms. We put in some
good beach time in the lagoon, and Jim and Karen did some
snorkeling, but mostly we cooked and visited. Dale kept the
great meals coming, and we all did our best to make him feel
appreciated. Tina and Karen also took Kitty with them to a
nearby Spa for an afternoon, for massages and facials. Great
to be spoiled! We did get out for a few meals, including
great seafood at Gio's Seafood
Restaurant in French Harbour on their first night on
the island, and the trip to the Hole In The Wall
in Jonesville Bight for steak and lobster. Stacy bought Jim some great
computer toys, and they spent a lot of time on computer projects. We
all pretty much took it easy for their whole week there. It
was grand.
